blog saves the day!

Please Stop

Dear everyone –

Please stop talking about Sarah Palin. Please? She’s all up in my inbox, I can’t surf the internet during work without reading 15 new stories about her and it’s been non-stop Palin on the cable TV for two weeks now. Even the interior design blog I read recently had anti-Sarah Palin buttons posted as their “Etsy find of the day.”

FYI, there is some serious crafting going on around this woman. Can I interest you in a Palin brooch?

Put some more lipstick on this pitbull!

Or maybe a lovely piece of art betters suits?

This costs $300. For reals.

And for the anti’s out there, have you considered wearing your heart on your wrist cuff?
The inside is stamped "pro-choice" and "protect polar bears"

Warhol-inspired shirt, maybe? Now you can finally take off that nasty old “Got Hope?” tee you’ve been sporting since the Iowa caucuses for long enough to wash it.

This is the third in a series. In case you're interested

The third in a series. In case you are interested in collecting.

“Craftivism” is the name for politically inspired pieces of flair like the above. Sweet! Here’s what I wonder. Where do these folks find the time??  Because between work and sleep and reality TV it’s hard enough for me to get off the couch and fix a drink, let alone bang out a set of silkscreen tees or felt lady pins. In just 13 days, no less. Plus you have to photograph them and put them on the web.

Anyway. As I was saying before I fell down the craftivism hole, no more Palin!! She’s running for VICE PRESIDENT! Who cares? I mean, yeah she did magically appear out of nowhere quite recently and yeah, she had a couple caribou stuffed in her closet and yeah she’s hardly qualified and yeah if you’re a democrat you should be scared OFF YOUR ASS about her and the fact that McCain has been leading in the poll since Monday, but enough already! Palin-fatigue has officially set in. There are other, important things going on in this campaign that I would like to know about and if I have to hear the phrase “heartbeat a way from the presidency” one more time I’m going to just flip.

(Etsy has a button, btw, in case you’d like to purchase).
