I am taking a break from obsessively checking my march madness bracket to post this picture of the giant lily which will be keeping me company while I’m holed up in my apartment all weekend. It’s raining nonstop for the next three days, so I plan to stay in and clean house, watch games, finish my book, start another book, make blood orange jam, practice my Photoshop skiiillz and start my new blog which I will debut to you on MONDAY.
If you know what’s what, you’ll check back then.
kobe to gasol: “be the black swan”
LOS ANGELES — At Monday’s Lakers practice, a day after Kobe Bryant took 10 consecutive shots on his own down the stretch of Los Angeles’ 109-96 loss to the rival Boston Celtics, Lakers forward Pau Gasol was asked if he was going to talk to Bryant about shooting less.
Turns out Bryant beat him to the punch, approaching Gasol in private sometime between the Celtics loss and the Lakers’ 114-106 overtime win over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday to implore the Lakers big man to play like him and shoot more.
“When I’m out there being aggressive and doing my thing, he needs to follow suit and just be just as aggressive which is hard for him because it’s kind of against his nature. But I think tonight was a good step,” Bryant said.
“Even when he was in Memphis and he was the go-to guy, he was always very nice. Very white swan. I need him to be black swan.”
HA! yes.

World Cup 2010! Who are you cheering for, rar-readers? I am pulling for Argentina, cause I love that cray-cray mcgee, Maradona. But I am also crossing my fingers for the U.S.A until they get knocked out.
Here’s a list of the things I like so far about World Cup 2010:
- Breakout star of the World Cup is a trumpet.
- Vuvuzela videos on youtube.
- There’s an ap for that.
- Excuse I needed to bar hop on the way to work.
- Aforementioned Maradona.
- Maradona photo search on google images.
- U.S. goal in 91st minute of game against Algeria.
- End of game jersey exchange!
- END. OF. GAME. JERSEY. EXCHANGE!!
Round of 16 starts this weekend! Time to break out the face paint, y’all.
chin chin cavs!
No picture, just a suggestion for something to do RIGHT NOW. Wine is the official color of the Cleveland Cavaliers, so go get a bottle and cheer them on, yo!

Because one of them is LeBron James! I was in the rafters at last night’s Cavs/Warriors game. You can get sweet tea and banana cream pie at Oracle Arena and both are delicious. The Nachos are just so so. And of course, LeBron is the best.
